In April 2026, M77 partnered with Mr. Wu Bin, designer and founder of W.DESIGN, to present the art installation “AoTing Court” at Milan Design Week. Set within the Cortile d’Onore, the central courtyard of the University of Milan, the installation entered a global design context through material and craftsmanship, offering a contemporary expression of how space is perceived.
As an important project within the INTERNI programme, “AoTing Court” continues the narrative thread of Wu Bin’s “Journey Through the Mountains” series. This also marks his third invitation to participate in Milan Design Week. From its first appearance to its continued evolution, Eastern design is gradually being seen, understood, and brought into deeper dialogue within a contemporary context. In this process, design is no longer merely the outward expression of form, but a reorganisation of culture, material, and spatial relationships.
Within a limited space, “AoTing Court” creates a spiritual experience that can be entered and perceived again and again. Space is understood through movement, material is remembered through touch, and everything ultimately returns to M77’s understanding of woodwork—not only as craftsmanship, but as an ongoing exploration of future ways of living.
Within this secluded and profound court, the infinite spirit of the mountains comes into view.
