The contemporary expression of traditional culture is not only about being seen or collected. More importantly, it is about re-entering everyday life and becoming a perceptible, usable, and enduring force in the relationship between people and space.
On July 31, 2026, the inaugural conference of the Smart Home Research Center of the Ministry of Education’s Base for the Inheritance of Fine Traditional Chinese Culture, together with the AIMUQIQI Intangible Cultural Heritage Summit Forum, opened at the Guoyuedao Art Museum in Jiangyin.
The conference was hosted by Jiangnan University and jointly organised by AIMUQIQI Group, the Ministry of Education’s Base for the Inheritance of Fine Traditional Chinese Culture, the Science and Technology Development Department of Jiangnan University, and the School of Design of Jiangnan University.
Guests from government bodies, universities, industry associations, art research institutions, intangible cultural heritage communities, and the home furnishing industry gathered to explore the future of intangible cultural heritage inheritance, design innovation, and smart home living.
The establishment of the Smart Home Research Center by AIMUQIQI Group and Jiangnan University marks more than a deep integration of intangible cultural heritage, design research, and the home furnishing industry. It also offers a new practical path for traditional culture to enter contemporary life.
When intangible cultural heritage enters the home, and craftsmanship responds to the needs of the times, smart living is no longer merely an upgrade of technology and function. It becomes a shared growth of culture, aesthetics, and ways of living.
Rooted in inheritance and moving toward the future, M77 will continue to explore new possibilities for Chinese home design along this path.
